Leon Stratman (73) of rural Edgewood

Leon E. "Dutch" Stratman, 73, of Edgewood died at 2:26pm Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 19, at 1pm at Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood. Burial in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery, rural Edgewood. Visitation will be 10am-1pm Saturday. Memorials to the family.
He was born March 30, 1939 in Glennonville, Missouri, the son of Frank and Bea (Schwitzer) Stratman. He married Geraldine L. Siebert on October 17, 1956 in Corinth, Mississippi. He was retired from All Steel in Aurora after 37 years, and was an avid hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Stratman of Edgewood...one son, James Stratman and wife Cindy of Golconda...one daughter, Brenda LaDew and husband Dave of Edgewood...grandchildren, Tammy Burgess, Lena Stratman, Jay LaDew, Scott Stratman, and Amy LaDew of O'Fallon...seven great-grandchildren...brothers, Sam Stratman of Vandalia, Joe Stratman and wife Monica of Montgomery, and Don Stratman and wife Dana of Strasburg...and sister, Melba Ferguson and husband Bill of Strasburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents...and his daughter, Cheryl Stratman.
