Norma Elmira Veatch, age 92, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 9:52 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehab in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Judy Poe will be officiating. Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery in Edgewood, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the Edgewood County Opry or the donor’s choice. Norma was born on April 24, 1926 in Marion County, Illinois, the daughter of Grover Theodore and Carrie (Butts) White. She married Charles Fredrick Veatch on February 4, 1946 in Effingham, Illinois, he preceded her in death on September 15, 2013. She was a member of the Edgewood Full Gospel Church. She worked at Norge-Fedders for 25 years. She was the last chartered member of Keeler Adams Edgewood American Legion Auxiliary Post #1168. She loved the outdoors, especially mushroom hunting, fishing, and planting her garden. She was well known for her homemade yeast donuts and would take them to every function she attended, especially the Edgewood Country Opry. Her proudest joy was her children and family.

She is survived by her two sons, Keith Veatch (wife Mary) of Edgewood, Illinois and Bob Veatch (wife Debbie) of Mason, Illinois; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Carrie White; husband, Charles Fredrick Veatch; one son, Gailen Ray Veatch; one daughter, Wanda Audrey Veatch; three brothers, Norman White, Boyce White, and Roy White and one sister, Elizabeth Neville.
