Dorothy Mae Barnes, 94, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Lavender Ridge in Effingham.
A family graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Dorothy was born on May 13, 1924, in Effingham County, IL, the daughter of Alton and Golda Alice (Porter) Dettro. She was united in marriage to Jack Barnes in 1942, and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2004.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed line dancing and working outside.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Jackie Morgan, Vickie (Steve) Burch, and Kent (Judy) Barnes all of Effingham; grandchildren, Kevin, Charlene, Matt, Mandy, and Tracie; 8 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Roger Dettro of Mattoon; and sister, Betty Beals of Chrisman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; great-grandson, Kolten Gasper; brother, Jack Dettro; sisters, Maxine Laue and Marilyn Tegenkamp; son-in-law, Loren Morgan; and sister-in-law, Rosie Dettro.
