Arthur P. "Art" Ryder, 83, of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 6:19 P.M. Monday, December 17, 2018, in the Carle Foundation Hospital of Urbana, Illinois.

Arthur was born March 17, 1935, in Spring Point Twp., Cumberland County, Illinois, the son of Thomas A. and Iva Blanche (Plummer) Ryder. Art married Louise D. Casstevens, January 29, 1956, in Hernando, Mississippi. Louise passed away December 12, 2018. He was a member of the Home Missionary Church of Neoga, Illinois and a member of the Mode Camp of Mode, Illinois. Arthur was employed by the UPS in Mattoon, and he retired after thirty-two years of service. He was a very friendly person, and he never met a stranger. He enjoyed talking and meeting people and he enjoyed helping, anyone he could.

Arthur leaves his four children, Lewis P. Ryder (Ruth) of Neoga, Illinois, Linda L. Helm (Wesley) of Oblong, Illinois, David L. Ryder (LaVella) and Donna L. Owens all of Neoga, Illinois; one sister, Norma Wallace of Montrose, Illinois; one brother-in-law, Richard Ebbert of Montrose, Illinois; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Ryder was preceded in death by parents; wife, Louise Ryder; one grandson, Kyle Owens; three sisters, Vera Seeley, Mildred Ebbert and Nadine Wagner.

Memorials may be made to the Mode Camp of Mode, Illinois in care of Lewis Ryder, Treasurer, P.O. Box 195 of Neoga, Illinois, 62447. 

Arthur's services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Friday, December 21 at the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois with Rev. Gene Creek officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. Thursday. Burial will be in the Mullen Cemetery, rural Montrose, Illinois.
