Loretta Kay Hemrich, age 69, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 12:32 PM - Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM – Thursday, December 20 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Minister Tonna Percival officiating. Burial will be in the Honey Cemetery in Bogota, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Wednesday. In loving memory of Loretta, memorials may be made to the Newton Athletic Boosters. Loretta was born on June 29, 1949, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Jyles “Jack” and Edith (Stanley) Bales. She married Lee Hemrich on August 12, 1967, at South Muddy Church north of Ingraham, Illinois.

Loretta graduated from Newton Community High School in 1966. She worked at E.R. Moore Cap and Gown Factory in Newton, for over 20 years.

Loretta enjoyed horses and attending sporting events.

Husband of 51 years – Lee Hemrich of Newton, Illinois

Children – Lora (Michael) McKinney of Evansville, Indiana; Chris (Mira) Hemrich of Alma, Illinois, and Jackson Hemrich of Newton, Illinois

Grandchildren – Jessica (Chris) Lynn, Wade McKinney, Christine McKinney, Amanda McKinney, Shelby (Mark) Juds, Shasta Hemrich, Shania Hemrich, Baylee Hinterscher, Jaleena Hemrich, Daniel Hemrich, Avery Hinterscher and Jyles Hemrich

8 Great Grandchildren

Sisters – Glenda Bunton, Lynn (Maurice) Will and Jackie Steppe all of Newton, Illinois

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Shelia Carlee Hemrich and a sister Teresa Shew.
