Larry G. Maisel (78) of Beecher City

Larry G. Maisel, 78, of Beecher City, Illinois passed away peacefully, with family and friends by his side, on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Willowbrook Memory Care in Effingham, Illinois.

Larry was born July 15, 1940, the son of C. Earl and Lonah (Harrison) Maisel. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Larry and Kathy were united in marriage in August 1980. Larry was the founder of the Folding Bleacher Company in Altamont and later sold the company to Irwin Seating Company. He enjoyed traveling, collecting ’63 Mercury cars, was an enthusiastic and frequent Casino visitor and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shumway.

Surviving is his wife of 38 years, Kathy Maisel of Beecher City.

Per his wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City is assisting the family.
