Phyllis Jean Durre, age 71, of Iola, Illinois passed away at 10:53 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2018 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 3 at the Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle in Iola, Illinois. There will be a half-hour viewing prior to the service. Reverend Jason Donaldson, Reverend Steve Donaldson, Reverend Harold Hoffman, and Reverend Daniel McDonald will be officiating. Burial will be at Iola Cemetery in Iola, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the church.

Phyllis was born on January 2, 1947 in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Victor L. and Inez M. (Hawley) Bolinger. She married Michael D. Durre on August 21, 1964 at the First Pentecostal Church in Salem, Illinois. She loved music, playing piano, giving piano lessons and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her church family at Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle, which she was the first lady of for 39 years.

She is survived by her husband, Pastor Michael Durre of Iola, Illinois; son, Guye Durre (wife Rhonda) of Flora, Illinois; 2 daughters, Tracee Bryant (husband Michael) of Iola, Illinois and Stephanee Smith (husband Paul) of Iola, Illinois; sister, Barbara Carter (companion Ron McKnight) of Collierville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Carrie Durre of Flora, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Inez Bolinger and her son, Wade Durre.
