Arthur Philip Geen, age 73, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away at 12:40 a.m. Sunday October 7, 2018 at his daughter’s house in St. Peter, Illinois surrounded by his family.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Lincoln Land Hospice or Donor’s Choice. Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter will be assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences may be left by clicking here.

Arthur was born on August 16, 1945 in Oak Park, Illinois the son of Arthur James Geen and Phyllis (Reichel) Geen. Arthur married Kathleen M. Danuser in Las Vegas, NV on March 19, 1980. Arthur ran a grocery and vending business in Lindenwood, Illinois for many years. All the young children in the area will remember Arthur as the “Candy Man”. Putting a smile on a child’s face was something Arthur always strived for. He loved being a grandfather, his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him tremendous joy. Arthur spoiled his wife relentlessly. He will be remembered for his loving compliments to his family. He loved to travel, go to auctions and eating out. He was an Effingham member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Lindenwood, Illinois Volunteer Fire Department.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Kathleen M. Geen of St. Peter, IL; one son, Mark Danuser (wife Angie) of Heartville, Illinois; three daughters, Dawn Geen (Jeremy Shaffer) of St. Peter, Illinois, Darlene Clark (Husband Bob) of Louisville, Kentucky, Denise Katt of Effingham, Illinois; one daughter-in-law, Theresa Danuser of Dubuque, Iowa; two sisters, Judy Gardner of Downers Grove, Illinois, Jane Baldonado of Carol Stream, Illinois; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and Arthur, Susie, Sarah and families.

Arthur was preceded in death by one son, James Danuser; one brother-in-law Dr. Garry Gardner and Arthur’s former wife, Nancy Pickering.
