David Donaldson, 63, of Effingham, IL, formerly of Shelbyville, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 6:49 a.m. in Effingham Terrace, Effingham, IL.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Effingham Terrace or to his family.
David was born on May 2, 1955 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Donald J. and Pearl H. (Whitehead) Donaldson. He worked for Community Support Systems in Teutopolis, IL. David loved to color, paint, watch Cardinal baseball games, and go to tractor pulls.
He is survived by his brother, Joe Donaldson of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, June Donaldson and Ann Conlin, both of Shelbyville, IL; ex-brother-in-law, Mark Conlin of Sullivan, IL; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Pearl; brothers, Elvin and Donnie Donaldson; sister, Mary Goodrich; and one nephew.
