Thrasilla Matilda Beckman, age 89, of Wheeler, Illinois, passed away at 9:45 AM – Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation in Effingham, Illinois.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Monday, July 30 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek, Illinois (rural Dieterich). Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Sunday at the church with parish wake service at 6:00 PM. There will also be visitation 1 hour before the mass at the church. In loving memory of Thrasilla, memorials may be made to the Effingham Area Alzheimer’s Awareness. Thrasilla was born on March 7, 1929, in Stringtown, Illinois, the daughter of Augustine and Victoria (Blank) Kocher. She married Elmer Joseph Beckman on October 26, 1957, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Olney, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on July 11, 2012. Thrasilla was a farmer’s wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer parish. Thrasilla enjoyed raising livestock especially dairy goats, gardening, baking, raising flowers and dancing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Thrasilla is survived by: Children – Elaine (Frank) Schumacher of Teutopolis, Illinois; Burnel (Cathy) Beckman of Effingham, Illinois and Aaron (Catherine) Beckman of Folsom, California; Grandchildren – Theresa Schumacher, Matthew (Sarah) Schumacher, Maria Schumacher, Laura (Tracey) Beckman, Bryan (Kelsea) Beckman, Lily Beckman and Zach Beckman; and Great Grandchildren – Reese Schumacher and Janie Schumacher.

Thrasilla was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Reatha Ann Beckman, grandson Lawrence Schumacher, sisters Eulalia Kocher, Regina Kocher and Imelda Mette.
