Philip R. Siemer, 68, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Philip was born on December 13, 1949, in Effingham, IL, the son of Adolph and Marie (Nuxoll) Siemer. He was united in marriage to Kathy Rentfrow and to this union were born three children: Ryan, Brad and Matt. He later married Nila Howell. Phil retired from Quebecor Printing Company in Effingham. He enjoyed spending his free time maintaining and working on his farm in Sigel, IL. He also enjoyed camping and the outdoors with his kids and just being outside in general.
Phil is survived by his wife, Nila Siemer of Effingham; sons, Ryan (Jody) Siemer of Teutopolis, Brad (Christy) Siemer of Carterville, and Matt (Katy) Siemer of Bloomington; 8 grandchildren; and sister, Patty (Gary) Hutchings of Mattoon. He is also survived by Nila’s three children and their four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Adolph Jr.; and one sister, Mary Ann.
