Mark Dee Pence, 63, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 10:34 AM - Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Saturday, July 7 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Rick Britton officiating. Burial will be in the Brockville Cemetery north east of Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Friday, with Masonic services at 7:00 PM. In loving memory of Mark, memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.

Mark was born on September 20, 1954, in rural Marion, Indiana, the son of Darrel Gene and Betty Louise (Heady) Pence. Mark was an over the road truck driver for over 35 years. Mark was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Newton, Illinois, Newton Masonic Lodge #216, Valley of Danville Scottish Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Ainad Shriners of Southern Illinois, Jasper County Shrine Club, Knights Templar and the International Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association. Mark enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle and jeep riding.

Mark is survived by: Brother – Dan Pence (fiancé Teresa Drtina) – Shellsburg, Iowa; several special friends also survive.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
