Janice E. Holste, 77, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 27 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Miller Chapel Cemetery in rural Effingham. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Miller Chapel Cemetery Fund, Alzheimer’s Association or donor’s choice. Janice was born on December 17, 1940, at home on the Effingham-Clay County Line, Mason, IL, the daughter of Otto and Emma (Bergman) Budde. Janice graduated from North Clay High School in Louisville, IL in 1959. She married and moved to the Altamont/Effingham area. Janice was a member of Hillside Church of Faith.

Janice is survived by her children, Tony (Bonnie) Holste of Altamont, Brenda Holste of Effingham, and Julie (Dale) Stanley of Altamont; grandchildren, Scott Holste, Taylor (Eric) Pretto, Noah Stanley, and Luke Stanley; great-grandchild, Johnathan Pretto; siblings, Eldred (Betty) Budde of Argenta, Darrel Budde of Louisville, Joan Cunningham of Effingham, Carolyn (Howard) Hammer of Altamont, Judy (Sam) Stuemke of Altamont, and Merv Budde of Effingham; sister-in-law, Loma Budde of Louisville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bernice (Ray) Wolff, and Elnora Budde; and brothers, Rufus Budde, Henry Budde, and Delmar Budde; and sister-in-law, Doris Budde.
