Dollie Davidson Martin (89) of Dieterich

Dollie Davidson Martin, 89, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 12:49 PM – Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM – Friday, June 1 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Dieterich, Illinois, with Pastor Jason Rensner officiating. Burial will be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Thursday at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, and ½ hour before the service at the church. Dollie was born on July 25, 1928, in Charleston, Illinois, the daughter of Patrick Daniel and Lillian Louise (Thompson) Davidson. She married Leland Martin on May 7, 1949, and he preceded her in death on December 2, 2000. Dollie was a music teacher and retired after 38 years of teaching. Dollie was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Dieterich, Illinois. She was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers, Elks and an EIU Alumni.

Dollie is survived by: Son – Kirk (Karen) Martin of Cahokia, Illinois; Grandchildren – Krista (Bruce) Jeffery, II of Columbia, Illinois, Cara Martin of Cahokia, Illinois and Cassie Martin of Cahokia, Illinois...Special Companion – Lyle Behrns of Dieterich, Illinois...and Sister-in-law – Patricia Martin of California.

Dollie was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother Daniel Davidson.
