Micheal Ross Walker (42) of Herrick, formerly of Shelbyville

Micheal Ross Walker, 42, of Herrick, IL, formerly of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 3:37 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018 in HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL, surrounded by his family.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyvillle. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Micheal was born on September 23, 1975 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Larry and Rose (McGinness) Walker. He attended Shelbyville High School and was a member of the Class of 1995. Micheal worked in the warehouse at FedEx in Effingham, IL and previously worked at International Paper in Shelbyville, IL. Some of Micheal’s hobbies included riding motorcycles and four wheelers, shooting guns, taking care of his pit bulls, and spending time with his family. Michael was a member of the Stewardson American Legion Post #611.

He is survived by his son, Connor Walker of Shelbyville, IL; parents, Larry and Rose Walker of Shelbyville, IL; grandmother, Gertha Walker of Taylorville, IL; sisters, Kristie Ann Fulton (Tom) of Shelbyville, IL and Lisa Hellman (Kevin) of Neoga, IL; and seven nieces and nephews, Eric and Whitney Fulton, Kelsey Crider, Kasey Mueller, and Kayla, Dustin, and Nicole Hellman.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ross Walker; and his maternal grandparents, Richard and Lois McGinness.
