Leslie Dale "Brub" Thornton, Jr., 64 of Neoga, Illinois, was received in heaven on the most glorious day of all, Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, with his loving wife by his side and his home filled with his close family.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 4 in the Long Point Cemetery near Neoga, IL with Chaplain Brad Gebben of Effingham officiating. Family and friends may gather after 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the cemetery until service time. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, IL, is in charge of arrangements.

Brub loved fishing, finding treasures on on-line bidding sites and purchasing unique gifts, for his wife. He was a hard working man and the entrepreneur of T N T Recycling in Effingham, where his son and daughter work side by side. Brub was born July 28, 1953, in Mattoon, Illinois, the son of Leslie D. and Wilma (Fitzpatrick) Thornton, Sr. He married Melanie D. Hartman, October 18, 1987, in Wheeler, Illinois.
Brub leaves his wife, Melanie Thornton of rural Neoga; daughter, Natalie Thornton and his son, Jordan Thornton (Ashley) all of rural Neoga, IL.
Brub was preceded in death by his parents; Mother-in-law, Helen Hartman.
