Jarielle Harner Winkleman,65, went to Heaven on Friday, February 16, 2018.

Jarielle was born on June 7, 1952, in Vandalia. She graduated from Brownstown High School in 1970. Jarielle received her BS from Greenville College, where she was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame and her MS from Eastern Illinois University. She was a teacher and coach at Stewardson-Strasburg High School for 14 years where she was the Illinois State Volleyball Coach of the Year in 1986. The next 19 years she taught science at Washington Middle School, retiring in 2007. Jarielle was a member of West Side Christian Church, Fayette County Retired Teachers and the Bergen Q-tees Golf League.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; son, Jay Winkleman; mother, Jennie Alice Harner (age 100); brother, Jvee (Theresa) Harner; sister, Jenetia (Dave) Ruble, Javonda (Gary) Barnes, Jorita (Gary) Cook and JoAlice (Steve) Dobbs.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph P. Harner, and brother, Joseph P Harner II.

A Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at West Side Christian Church in Springfield.  A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Eddie Lowen officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to West Side Christian Church or Greenville University. Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home in Springfield is assisting.
