Patsy (Pat) Ruth McMahon, 82, of Effingham, formerly of Aurora, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A funeral mass for Patsy will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shumway. Visitation is on Wednesday morning, December 19th, from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. at Hall Funeral Chapel in Effingham with an 11:30 a.m. rosary. Burial is in the St. Mary’s Church Cemetery. Patsy was born on August 31, 1930 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Edwin J. and Sarah (Williams) Baldwin. Patsy worked as a telephone operator in Belleville until she married Thomas M. McMahon on April 17, 1956 in Belleville, Illinois, and he has since preceded her in death on December 22, 2009.She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shumway, St. Anthony’s Auxiliary, a Girl Scout Leader, and volunteered at the church for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, spending time with grandchildren, playing dominos with her friends, cake decorating and reading.

Survivors include; 5 daughters, Kathleen (Mike) Shoemaker of Pittsboro, IN, Linda (Chris) Rohl of St. Joseph, IL, Patricia (Rich) Balow of Park Ridge, IL, Cynthia (Steve) Abelman of Ijamesville, MO, and Mary Theresa (Bruce) Perkins of Athens, IL, 12 grandchildren; Adrienne and Alison Shoemaker, Thomas Rohl, Matthew, Mark, Mary Kate, and Martin Balow, Rebecca and Anna Abelman, Seth, Andrew, and Sarah Perkins, sister; Marie (Jim) Jones of Effingham, and 9 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Thomas.
