Bonita R. Davis, 64, of Watson, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 8 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Watson Cemetery, Watson. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Watson Baptist Church, Watson Fire Department, or the Effingham County Humane Society.

Bonita was born on May 1, 1953, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Glen E. “Doc” and Alta M. (Pontious) Loy. She was united in marriage to Donald G. Davis on July 22, 1972, in Watson, IL, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2009. Bonita was a self-sufficient, hardworking, feisty individual that was the “glue” that held the family together. She adored and loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing and music especially, Elvis. She also loved animals. Bonita had worked at Quad Graphics. She was a member of Watson Baptist Church.

Bonita is survived by her children, Angela Artola, Branden E. (Lori) Davis, and Charlotte (Jeremy) Lukens all of Effingham; grandchildren, Anthony Artola, Alyssa Artola, Alexander Artola, Aiden Wickware, Brenden Davis, Ilisa Rogers, Corey Rogers, and Dakota Curry; mother-in-law, Dorothy Faye (the late George) Davis; special friend, Kenny Gerhardt; and siblings, Carol Jean (Vince) Claps, Linda Pippen, Sandra (Ron) Tipsword, Mike Loy, Tim (Loren) Loy, Arvie Loy, and Cathy Loy; brother-in-law, Dale Stuemke.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Marjorie Stuemke, Glen Elvin Loy Jr., Kevin Loy in infancy, Kent Loy; special friend, James “Chico” Carder; and brother-in-law, Lige “Buster” Pippen.
