Dorothy Grant (93) of Altamont

Dorothy E. Grant, 93, of Altamont, died at 9:22 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 28 at the First United Methodist Church, Altamont, with Rev. Paige Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the donors’ choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, is assisting with arrangements.

Dorothy was born on Saturday, November 22, 1924 in Mahomet, IL to George W. and Naomi Morr Grant. She was a retired beautician, a member of the First United Methodist Church and the church choir for many years, the United Methodist Women, Order of the Eastern Star #787, Edgewood having served as Matron several times. She was also a member of the Effingham County Home Extension and the McCoy Club.

She is survived by many cousins and was preceded in death by her parents.
