Myron Homer Myers, 85, of Cowden, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield surrounded by family.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 1 at 4:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery in rural Beecher City with Pastor Nick Robertson officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden. Memorials may be made to the Cowden Fire Department.

Myron was born July 14, 1931, in St. Elmo, the son of Samuel Robert and Ethel Bertha (Luckett) Myers. He married Mary Rhodes on November 21, 1956. Myron was a Union Carpenter with Local 270 in Springfield. He was a member of the Cowden Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, Carpenters Union for 35 years, and was a Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and he adored time spent with his grandchildren.

Myron is survived by his wife Mary of Cowden; children Gene (Pat) Myers of Indianapolis, IN, Terri (Dale) Wallace of Effingham, Mike (Marla) Myers of Herrick and Carl Ray (Kim) Myers of Beecher City; grandchildren Sam (Jessica) Myers, Ben Myers, Ashlyn (Dusty) Bohannon, Cody Myers, TJ Myers, Colton Heiserman, Caleb Heiserman, Macie Heiserman, Chelsey (Dustin) Stuckemeyer, Kelsey Myers (Jason)  and Courtney Myers; sisters Erma Fair and Juanita (Ernie) Tomlinson; sister-in-law Midge Fisher and brother-in-law Darold (Dorothea) Rhodes.

Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
