Woodrow Lee Dial, 83 of St. Elmo died at 5:55 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017 at Aperion Care, St. Elmo.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Jim Giffin officiating. Burial will follow at Beecher City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Woodrow Lee Dial was born on Sunday, November 19, 1933 in Avena Township, rural Fayette County, Illinois to John Woodrow "Pete” and Leta (Siddens) Dial. He married Carol Wright on December 28, 1976. He was a retired mechanic having worked for Laue Ford and Beccue Ford and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Carol Dial of St. Elmo; sons, Brad Dial of Effingham, Travis (Terri) Dial of St. Elmo, and Bryan (Brandy) Dial of St. Elmo; brothers, Jerry (Pam) Dial of Heartville and Doug (Nancy) Dial of Teutopolis; sisters, Jane (Haldon) Simmons of Moccasin, Janet (Dan) Roedl of Altamont, JoAnn (Sonny) Gunther of Monticello, Patty Gillespie of Anthony, Florida, and Luella Dial of Framingham, Massachusetts; 4 grandsons, Devon, Dylan, James and Hunter Dial; and 2 granddaughters, Taylor Dial and McKenzie Litaker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Glenda Kay Dial and grandson Clayton Dial.
