Charles Glosser Jr., age 85 of rural Greenup passed away at 5:30 AM – Friday, November 9, 2012 in rural Cumberland County, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM – Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Block Cemetery in rural Greenup, IL.  Arrangements are under the care of the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup, IL.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.blakefh.com.

Charles, known to family and friends as “Junior” was born on February 13, 1927 in Cumberland County, IL, the son of Charles and Eva (Layman) Glosser.  Junior lived his life on the family farm, raising crops, hogs and cattle.  In his later years he developed a passion for gardening and enjoyed sharing what he grew with friends and neighbors in the community.  Active until the very end, he left life doing what he loved, hunting with his favorite dogs Slew and Chief by his side.

Junior is survived by one brother; Kenny (Nancy) Glosser of Decatur, IL and one sister Kaye (Glosser) Reisner of Hidalgo, IL; nephews Don Glosser, John Glosser, Greg Glosser, Jimmy Glosser, Larry Sharp, Chuck Sharp, Mike Sharp, nieces Beverly Leight, Lila Reinold, Julie Alcott, Sherry St.Cyr, Becky Miller, Nila Smith, Mindy Browning, Bonnie Barrett, Cindy Berver and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Johnny and Herman, and sisters Wilma Dean Glosser, Hazel Glosser, Clarice Coleman, Delene Bowman, and Mary Sharp, and two nephews Bob Sharp and Gary Glosser.
