Dorothy Mae Schoonover (93) of Louisville

Dorothy Mae Schoonover, age 93, of Louisville, IL, passed away at 7:12pm Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Burge House in Flora, IL.

Funeral service will be at J. W. Neal Funeral Home at in Louisville at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 20. Interment will be at Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville, IL. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made to the Clay County Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born September 03, 1923 in Livonia, Missouri, the daughter of David Arthur and Laura Essa (Wright) Current. She was united in marriage with Glenn Schoonover on August 16, 1941 and to this union were four sons and one daughter. Glenn preceded her in death on January 26, 2008. She enjoyed her life farming with her husband Glenn and retired from Burke's Grocery Store as a checkout clerk.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Daniel (Cora Jane) Schoonover and David (Ellen) Schoonover both of Louisville; daughter, Beverly (Gary) Clark of Clay City; daughter-in-law, Diann Schoonover of Bridgeton, Mo; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Arthur and Laura Essa Current; husband, Glenn Schoonover; sons, Richard "Butch" Schoonover and Wayne Schoonover; brothers, Jack, Mike, and Pat Current; sister, Esther DesPres; step-mother, Ann Current; and one granddaughter, Jody McKnelly.
