Arthur G. Zumbahlen (83) of Effingham

Arthur G. Zumbahlen, 83, of Effingham died at 12:30pm Monday, August 3, 2015 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30am Thursday, August 6 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10am Thursday at the church. Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting with arrangements.

 Arthur was born August 25, 1931 in Tolono, the son of Frank and Bertha (Tanner) Zumbahlen. He married Reta Boone in September of 1954, and later divorced. Arthur served with the United States Army in the Korean Conflict and was a machinist at Effingham Regrinding Inc. for 53 years. Earlier in his life, Arthur restored and enjoyed showing his antique cars. He loved to go camping and to garage sales while cruising around in his convertible. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham, Effingham American Legion and a lifelong member of Effingham Knights of Columbus Council #665 and the V.F.W. Post #1769.

Arthur is survived by his daughter, Debra (Ron) Fuesting of Sorrento, FL; brother, Richard (Ruth) Zumbahlen of Effingham; grandsons, Ryan (Brandy) Fuesting of Knoxville, TN and Dustin Fuesting (special friend, Angela) of Champaign; great-granddaughter, Ella Fuesting; sister-in-law, Delilah Zumbahlen of Sigel; several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles; sister, Evelyn (Bob) Eirhart and special friend, Mary Stortzum.
