Helen L. Luke, 97, of Greenup died at 1:48am Monday, August 3, 2015 at Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center in Greenup, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday, August 5, at Meyer Funeral Home in Greenup with Pastor Rick Emrich officiating. Burial will be in the Hazel Dell South Cemetery in Hazel Dell. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Memorials to Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center, 300 Marietta St. Greenup, IL 62428.

Helen Louise was born on May 6, 1918 in the Cumberland County, Illinois the daughter of Thomas and Flora (Evans) Tipsword. She married Paul Lawrence Luke on December 12, 1935 and he preceded her in death in December 1978. Helen was employed at Ettlebrick Shoe Company for several years. She also worked at the Martinque in Greenup, Illinois and the Brass and Glass Gift Shop in Casey, Illinois. She also had been a cook at the Hazel Dell School cafeteria and was a Mary Kay consultant. Helen was a member of the Church of God in Hazel Dell, Illinois. She loved to sing, read, crochet and most of all spending time with her family.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Donald Glenn Warfel, two infant granddaughters, sisters Ione Ferris, Geraldine Edwards and brothers Cleo Tipsword and Richard Tipsword.
