Ada Henry Currier, 100, of California, passed away on August 19, 2012.
Graveside services for Ada Henry Currier will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Oakridge Cemetery in Effingham with Pastor Dr. Joe Sheets officiating. Ada Henry was born on October 1, 1911 in Effingham, the daughter of Sylvester and Minnie Davis Henry. Ada was a graduate of the University of Illinois and attended Julliard School in New York City, where she studied music and later she received a Master’s degree in education. She married Dr. Wilber Dale Currier of Nebraska and lived briefly in Massachusetts and Oregon, before settling in California, in 1943. Ada was a long time resident of San Marino, California and was director of the San Marino women’s chorus and a member of the Society of Women Geographers and traveled the world extensively.
She is survived by her son; Rock Henry Currier and her daughter; Beth Dale Currier.
