Thomas Joseph Ettelbrick, 73, of Greenup, Illinois passed away at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at his residence.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 18 at Christ the King Catholic Church in  Greenup. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Burial, with military rites by Cumberland County Veterans, will be in the Greenup Cemetery.

Tom was born in Effingham August 21, 1938, the son of Nicholas F. Jr. and Colette (Rakers) Ettelbrick. He married Diane Cutts April 24, 1965. Tom graduated from Cumberland High School in 1956 and then attended  Quincy College. He served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963.  Tom was Vice President of manufacturing for the Ettelbrick Shoe Company in Greenup and later was a co-owner of the Merchandise Outlet in Greenup for many years.

Tom was a member of Christ the King Catholic Chruch in Greenup, 4th degree Knights of Columbus in Teutopolis, was a member and past commander of the Greenup American Legion #566, member of 40 & 8. The Greenup VFW men's Auxiliary. Tom, in the past, had been a Greenup Village Board Trustee, a little league coach, he loved spending time with his children and granddaughters and he enjoyed hunting, golfing and playing cards.

Survivors include his loving wife; daughters, Becky (husband Kyle) Hormuth and Beth Ann (husband Jeff) Cox, both of Saint Charles, Mo.; sister, Mary Jo (husband Bart) Schroeder of Thornton, Colo.; granddaughters, Kylee and Lily Hormuth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph; daughter, Brooke Marie Ettelbrick; brother, Nicholas Ettelbrick III and sister, Judy Cochonour.
