Nolen G. Sheehan, 77, of Effingham, Illinois, formerly of Trowbridge, IL, passed away at 3:20 P.M. Thursday, August 21, 2014, in St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, August 26, in the St. Mary of the Assumption Church of Neoga with Father Sunder Ery officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Monday with a wake service at 7:30pm and a Knights of Columbus Rosary to follow in the church. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery of Trowbridge. Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga is in charge of arrangements.

Nolen was born December 16, 1936, in Shelby County, Illinois, the son of Patrick and Dorothy (Stilabower) Sheehan. He was a member of the St. Mary Of The Assumption Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, both of Neoga, Illinois. Nolen married Jean Burrell, April 15, 1961, in Sigel, IL. He was a self employed carpet installer, and a retired School Bus Driver for the Neoga School District of Neoga.

Nolen leaves his wife, Jean Sheehan of Effingham, IL; one son, Danny Sheehan and wife Joann of Trowbridge, IL; one brother, Jerry Sheehan and wife Mary of Mattoon, IL; four grandchildren, Ashley Monroe and husband Dennis of Seattle, WA, Andrew Sheehan and wife Madalyn of Columbus, GA, Tyler Sheehan and Trentin Sheehan both of Trowbridge, IL; three great grandchildren, Mykenzie, James and Mikayla Monroe; several nieces and nephews.

Nolen was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Charles Burrell.
