Martin's IGA will sponsor a cookout on their parking lot from 4:00 - 8:00PM on Wednesday, September 23, the night of Effingham's homecoming parade. The proceeds of which will benefit the maintenance of the 1937 "Caledonia" firetruck which fought the infamous St. Anthony Hospital fire (1949). The "Cal" is cared for by the volunteer organization known as The Effingham Retired Volunteer Firefighter's Association. The truck will be on display at Martin's parking lot Wednesday and the volunteers invite you to come and get a sandwich, view, visit, and support this worthwhile cause.
