Effingham Public Library Hosts Learning to Code for Tweens and Teens

Do you have or know a teen or tween that is interested in computer science and learning to code?  If so, the Effingham Public Library has a couple of options for those who are interested.  For those ages 12-15, we have a Learn to Code for Tweens program and, for those ages 16 and up, we have Learn to Code for Teens.

Learn to Code for Tweens is on Tuesday, December 27 at 2:00 PM.  Learn to Code for Teens in on Wednesday, December 28 at 5:00 PM.

Both classes are free and are led by IT consultant, Erich Metzelaars.  These classes are a good opportunity for your teen or tween to see if computer science or coding is for them.  According to Jean Piaget, a Swiss psychologist who was focused on the intellectual development of children, "The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing new things."

For more information about this free program, go online to effinghamlibrary.org, email info@effinghamlibrary.org or call 217-342-2464 x. 1.
