Effingham County Township Officials Association

Jerry Crabtree, Associate Director of Township Officials of Illinois, will be the guest speaker at the 2018 banquet of the Effingham County Township Officials Association. It will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Carriage House Events Center in Altamont. Registration will begin at 6:00 P.M. with the meeting starting at 6:30 P.M.

There are 15 townships in Effingham County. All elected township officials and their guests are invited. The cost of the meal is $8.00 per person and will be catered by Joe’s Pizza & Pasta. Reservations are required. Names of persons attending and money should be mailed to: Jeff Wendling, Secretary/Treasurer, 13972 N. 500th Street, Altamont, Illinois 62411.

Other officers are: President, Charles Scholes, trustee in Mound Township; and Vice-President, Scott Beal, supervisor of West Township.

Others serving on the executive board are: Leonard Waldhoff, supervisor of Banner Township; Robert Beckman, supervisor of Bishop Township; Ron Overbeck, supervisor of Douglas Township; Ed Hoopengarner, trustee in Jackson Township; Glen Donaldson, supervisor of Liberty Township; Rodney Grunloh, highway commissioner of Lucas Township; Lee Sims, trustee in Mason Township; Dennis Miller, supervisor of St. Francis Township; Shirley Moore, clerk of Summit Township; Dave Apke, supervisor of Teutopolis Township; Darrell Gressel, supervisor of Union Township; and Fred Percival, supervisor of Watson Township.

Crabtree has worked with the Legislative and Executive branches of Illinois state government. Crabtree will speak on, “Got Questions? TOI Has the Answers!” He believes all township officials should be knowledgeable about their job and should seek out educational training. He will provide answers on specific duties of officials; TOIRMA; scholarships; prevention alcohol policy; lunch & learn webinars; general assistance; TOIPAC; Senate Bill 3; FOIA; OMA; TOI download center; preventing sexual harassment; goals and objectives of local government; and upcoming educational conferences and training.
