What Can We Recycle Presentation at the Suzette Brumleve Memorial Effingham Public Library
Local recycling expert, Bill Elving will be at the Suzette Brumleve Memorial Effingham Public Library on Thursday, April 20 at 6 p.m. in the Workman Room to talk about what products can be recycled and why. He will also answer questions about how to recycle, reducing household waste, and the economic aspects that drive the industry.
Members of local community group “Effingham Recycles” will also be in attendance. Effingham Recycles is a community group which includes local people from all walks of life from entrepreneurs to stay-at-home moms who are actively looking at all the elements involved in encouraging recycling and finding solutions to the current recycling challenge in the Effingham community.

Earth Day is on Saturday, April 22nd and starting Monday, April 17, the library will host a number of Recycling Displays organized by Effingham Recycles on its 2nd Floor.
The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. Twenty years later, Earth Day went global, mobilizing 200 million people in 141 countries and lifting environmental issues onto the world stage. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.
