(Springfield, IL) -- The state of Illinois is running a deficit of more than 43-billion dollars. A report by the Auditor General looks beyond the state's budget and examines all assets the state owns. The deficit's rapid growth is noted since 2006 when it was near 19-billion dollars. The AG says the state's deficit is the largest in the U.S.
