North Clay School Board Holds June Meeting

North Clay school board members Thursday accepted a check from Clay County Hospital in Flora as a reimbursement from sports physicals. The check for $425 will go to North Clay Academic Foundation.
The Board heard from Superintendent Monty Aldrich that at the end of summer when the high school heating, ventilating and air conditioning work is finished, the district will have numerous window air conditioners available to sell. They also have some welders, a radial arm saw, and a few other items to sell. The Board approved advertising the surplus items for sale at a later date.
Board members re-employed Judy Van Dyke as district treasurer for the next two school years, hired Lanie Barbee as paraprofessional in guided learning, hired Vicki Hagan as guided learning teacher, hired Angie Davis as a paraprofessional, hired Jade Clayton as junior high Social Science teacher, hired Kyle Bible as a nine-month custodian, accepted a resignation from DeDe McElravy as high school Science Club sponsor, voted 3-3 on the resignation of Stephanie Harrison as Drama Club sponsor so the motion failed, hired Jerin Romack as National Honor Society sponsor, hired Billy Coble as high school assistant boys basketball coach, hired Lynsey Thoele as high school Science Club sponsor, and hired Kim Harrison as junior high cross country coach.
