FISH Deadline for School Supply Apps is Tomorrow

The deadline for Effingham County FISH Human Services to accept applications for free school supplies is tomorrow, Tuesday, July 30.

Those needing supplies for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade living in Effingham County must complete an Application for Assistance by Tuesday, July 30.  Applications are available at the FISH Service Center, which is located at the corner of Grove and Maple in Effingham, and at Catholic Charities at 1502 East Fayette between Effingham and Teutopolis.

Completed applications may be mailed to Effingham County FISH, PO Box 473, Effingham, IL 62401 or dropped off at the mailbox at the FISH Service Center or at Catholic Charities no later than Tuesday, July 30.

Applications received after July 30 will not be processed.

Meanwhile, donations of school supplies for Effingham County students are needed by FISH.

The supplies especially needed are highlighters, eight-count washable markers, 12-count colored pencils, dry erase markers, glue sticks, glue, pocket folders, 3"-by-5" note cards, loose leaf paper (wide ruled), rulers, 24-count crayons, and spiral notebooks (wide ruled).

Donations are being accepted at Save-A-Lot and K-Mart.  Monetary donations are also welcomed and may be mailed to Effingham County FISH, PO Box 473, Effingham, IL 62401.

FISH distributes school supplies to about 350 Effingham County students.
