The case manager program at Effingham Public Library is still operating.

Library Director Amanda McKay said funds are in place to maintain the program through the 4th of July. The program received a boost from the 100+ Women Who Care of Effingham County, who selected the program for funding.

The case manager program is designed to provide a variety of services. The efforts include seeking funds to cover medical costs, filing for unemployment and a number of other different programs, searching for food, and how to touch base with various agencies. The program is headquartered in the basement of the library.

Anyone who would like to contribute toward the case manager program should contact the library.

Board members toured the library building and grounds, and learned that the builidng automation system continues to control costs at the library.

McKay reminded Board members about the launch Friday at the Storywalk on the Lake Sara Beach grounds. Effingham Masonic Lodge #149 and a grant from the Illinois Masonic Children's Assistance Program is financing the program. The Storywalk will bring a new story each month to the trail. A launch party will take place from 4 to 6pm and will include free hot dogs and chips and a take-and-make craft, both while supplies last.
