Legislation co-sponsored by State Representative Blaine Wilhour of Beecher City that he says makes the state school report card more transparent has been approved by the Illinois House of Representatives.

The measure, sponsored by Will Davis, a Chicago Democrat, was drafted to create more clarity on how districts spend Evidence-Based Funding money.

House Bill 3446:

--requires that a school district's report card include the district's expenditure of Base Funding Minimum and Evidence-Based Funding received from the State

--requires that included in a school district's annual spending plan they shall indicate which stakeholder groups the Organizational Unit engaged to inform annual spending plans

--provides that annual spending plans shall be integrated in annual school district budgets

The bill was approved on a vote of 106-0 and is now before the Illinois Senate.
