Teutopolis Board Amends Liquor Ordinance for Possible Restaurant

Teutopolis village board members have voted to amend the village's liquor ordinance.

The measure will now permit the sale of beer, wine and cocktails at restaurants in the village. An entity is looking at a couple of sites where they might develop a restaurant. The Board also renewed all existing liquor licenses for the fiscal year beginning May 1.

Board members passed the fiscal year appointment ordinance, reappointing all current personnel. They also allocated up to $50,000 to pay for repairs on sidewalks in the village. If additional repairs are needed, the amount of money allocated may be revisited.

The Board heard from Lee Beckman of Milano and Grunloh Engineers on grant fund status, and heard that Courtney Yockey of the Alliance will assist Village Clerk Amy Vahling in preparing requests for proposals to develop a new comprehensive plan for the village.

Board members also learned that a new police vehicle has been received and should be ready to go into service wtihin a month.
