Several personnel moves were made by the South Central school board at this month's meeting.

The Board hired Doug Owens as a high school Math instructor for the coming school year; and hired Tony Farthing as a Special Education teacher for the elementary and middle school buildings for the coming year. Karrie Davis was hired as a support staff member at the high school retroactive to April 18; Bethany Lowry was appointed middle school cheer coach for the coming school year; and the Board granted Erica Fox a leave of absence for this week.

The Board granted Trudy Bell a retroactive leave from March and also accepted her resignation effective at the end of the current school year. A resignation was accepted from Trevor Markley as head middle school basketball coach and as 5th and 6th grade coach, both effective April 29. Also accepted was a letter of retirement from Shirley White effective August 5.

South Central board members also approved Superintendent Kerry Herdes amending the budget to adjust balances accordingly, and approved a $28,000 loan from Working Cash to Debt Service.

The Board also approved paying $2,000 toward helping students attend the National FBLA Conference in Orlando to pay expenses.
