A line of severe thunderstorms that came through the air between 7:30pm and 8pm Thursday caused numerous power outages and other problems.

A grain bin was carried by the winds a quarter-mile from Schmid Auction on the east edge of Teutopolis onto Route 40 ending up in the middle of the roadway. A Teutopolis school bus returning home from a junior high track meet had to go around the bin. Trent Schmid and some other volunteers were able to move the bin off the roadway into the ditch to get it out of the way of any other traffic.

Tyler Repking of Repking Media reports that there was rotation in the clouds directly above Illinois Route 33, two miles south of Teutopolis, and a couple of shelf or wall clouds were reported in the Watson, Mason and Edgewood areas.

A power outage on the southeast side of Effingham knocked our stations off the air for more than an hour last night. We were back on the air around 9:15pm.
