PAVE (Promoting a Vision for Effingham County) will host a Community Breakfast slated for Tuesday, April 16, from 7-8:30am at the Carriage House Event Center in Altamont. The event will feature progress updates from the PAVE Action Teams and the City of Altamont, along with a keynote address by guest speaker Kurt Becker.

Becker is an Altamont native and a graduate of Altamont Community High School and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He is an independent contractor in the sportscasting field, with an emphasis on Thoroughbred racing and NASCAR. He currently serves as track announcer at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky and as a play-by-play announcer for Motor Racing Network.

Within PAVE, a number of volunteers are pursuing a 20-year vision aimed at making Effingham County an optimal environment for living, working and flourishing. PAVE channels its efforts through five Action Team: Parks and Recreation; Housing; Workforce and Education; Childcare; and Festivals and Events. Proceeds from the event will support the initiatives of PAVE Action Teams.

Tickets for the Community Breakfast are priced at $20 per person, including a buffet breakfast catered by Deb's Catering. You can buy tickets at: effinghamcountychamber.com/event/pave-community-breakfast/

PAVE is always seeking additional volunteers. If you're interested in any of the five Action Teams or lending a hand, contact Lucinda Hart at Effingham County Chamber of Commerce or Courtney Yockey at Effingham County Regional Growth Alliance.
