Siemer Milling Company (SMC) has announced that Brian Semple has been elected to the position of Vice President Grain Supply by the Board of Directors. He is stepping into the position vacated with the retirement of Carl Schwinke.

Semple brings with him 16 years in various commercial and management roles in the Agribusiness industry. He has previously worked with Bunge in various roles and geographies; Engelhart Commodities Trading Partners in Stamford, CT; and most recently as a Commodities Broker for J. W. Nutt Co. in Little Rock, AR.

Siemer Milling President Rick Siemer commented, "This experience will be a great asset in managing the origination of wheat and merchandising of co-products for all 3 Siemer locations – Teutopolis, IL, Hopkinsville, KY and West Harrison, IN. Brian is now responsible for managing risk, procurement of wheat for an uninterrupted supply to SMC’s flour milling operations, and marketing the co-products for all milling assets. He will also be involved in efforts to support farmers and scientists in improving the quantity and quality of wheat grown in the SMC market area. His experience with commodity trading, risk management, and logistics management in the industry are invaluable as SMC continues to expand our market presence."

Semple was born and raised in Effingham, and is a graduate of St. Anthony schools and of the University of Illinois College of ACES. He and his wife, Crystal, have one son, Sterling.
