Local Man Arrested on Residential Burglary Charge

A local man was arrested early Friday morning on a charge of residential burglary.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office said 46-year-old Brian K. Levitt of Effingham is accused of entering a home northwest of Watson just before 4am. Sheriff's deputies responded and took Levitt into custody. No one was injured.

Levitt was also arrested on charges of criminal damage to property and threatening a public official. He was expected to make a court appearance later on Friday.
