Teutopolis school board members Monday moved ahead with roof and HVAC replacement work on the 2001 section of Teutopolis High School.

Top Quality Roofing presented the lowest responsible base bid on the work at $614,000. The work is to be completed in the summer of 2024.

Also Monday, Teutopolis Superintendent Matt Sturgeon reviewed progress toward district goals and updates were provided on technology, transportation, maintenance and food service. The Board also learned that a branding guide for the district has been created, and information was shared about K-9 Dale, a Sheriff's Office therapy dog working with the school resource officer.

Teutopolis board members accepted the resignation of Lois Overbeck as high school cook. Hired by the Board were Tim Runde as district technology director; Kevin McKenna as data services director; Kelly Niemerg as high school cook; and Rick Belford as grade school paraprofessional. Amy Thoele's request for change of hours as grade school secretary and Traci Chojnicki's leave of absence request were also approved.
