Illinois Farm Bureau’s DeLoss Jahnke, senior audio news anchor, was elected vice president of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting. His term begins Jan. 1.

Following a vote of his peers Friday during NAFB’s 80th annual convention, Jahnke said he was “very honored and very excited.” “I’m very much overwhelmed and so appreciative of the voters who had confidence enough in me to elect me into the position,” he said.

Jahnke is heard weekday mornings on "RFD Illinois" on KJ Country 102.3.

Jahnke’s broadcasting career spans more than two decades. He received his bachelor’s degree in agricultural journalism from Kansas State University and his master’s in business administration from Butler University. He joined the RFD Radio Network team in March 2015 and comes from a five-generation crop and livestock farm.

NAFB is a professional organization that leads, promotes and supports growth in agricultural and rural broadcasting. As vice president, Jahnke will serve on the NAFB Board of Directors and will represent the organization at several national events.
