Further Information on Two Pedestrians Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Clay County

Clay County Coroner Bryce Henry has released further information on the incident Sunday night where two pedestrians were killed when struck by a vehicle.

Henry reports that Sunday night a little after 7 pm emergency responders were dispatched to an area just west of the intersection of highway 50 and Big 4 Road. The initial investigation revealed that two pedestrians, 20-year-old Bayley A. Walker and 13-year-old Bryson A. Walker, both of Flora, were traveling in the eastbound lane of US 50 due to their vehicle being disabled in the westbound lane, when they were struck by a passing vehicle.

Both were pronounced deceased on the scene by Coroner Henry. The crash is still under investigation.

Responding agencies were the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County Ambulance Service, Clay City Fire Department, Illinois State Police and the Clay County Coroner's Office.
