The current 2023 Partnership (Effingham County Museum and Effingham Public Library) lecture series begins this Thursday, November 2, at 6:00 p.m. and will last approximately one hour. The Partnership lecture series exists to provide the public with knowledge of topics related to local and regional history.

The presentation will take place in the Effingham County Museum.

Bob Hammel, Site Superintendent  of the Eldon Hazlet State Park, will speak about the early archeological work undertaken during the construction of Carlyle Lake in the early 1960's. Hammel will add to the audience's understanding and knowledge of the native tribes by showing examples of artifacts from the area. He will explain their function and how they were used in everyday life.
