Teutopolis village board members have amended an ordinance regulating swimming pools in the village. The measure regulates fencing around in-ground pools and fencing and locking gates for ladders on above-ground pools.

The Board amended their TIF agreement with Farmweld regarding the number of employees required, the completion date for complying with the agreement, and setting an end date for the agreement of December 31, 2040. Also approved was a plat of the first addition to Stella Esker Subdivision and a resolution to abate the fiscal year tax levy.

Further discussion of updating the village's Comprehensive Land Use Plan was tabled until early in 2024, and heating and insulation work at the maintenance shop was awarded to Swingler Construction and Steffen Heating and Air Conditioning. The work will cost just under $31,000.

Board members hired H&K Excavating and Trucking to have the ditch cleaned out along State Street for $165/hour. The work is expected to take two to three days to complete. Also, there was more discussion about how to handle nuisance violations. It was decided to direct Village Attorney Tracy Willenborg to send letters to those cited giving them 10 days to comply before the property is reinspected.

The Board also agreed to talk with Willenborg about how to zone Home Occupations, and finalized the acquisition of the TexMyGov system for the village at a cost of $4,300 the first year and $3,800 the following year.
