Altamont city council members approved some economic development assistance at this week's meeting.

The Council approved a contract for private development with DKSK Properties, parent company of Kremer Pharmacy. The business plans to construct a new parking lot behind the building, as well as adding a drive-up window. The Council approved a $10,000 grant along with 50% of TIF dollars for 10 years. Also approved was an encroachment permit, allowing installation of storm drainage for the pharmacy project.

The Altamont council also executed a contract for private development with Crystal Sphar Finley, doing business as The Skin Refinery. Finley is purchasing an adjoining building and is expanding her business. The City is providing $25,000.

The Council also approved a $5,000 payment to CNP Welcome Group, doing business as Relax Inn. The business resurfaced its parking lot and did some painting.

Also this week, the Altamont council approved insurance coverage for the coming year, at no increase in the premium cost of just over $122,000, and heard that Fields Group has replaced the fencing at Gilbert Park, and will use the first two Saturdays in November to install a new piece of playground equipment.
